I don't know about the rest of you, but I do what Harold says. Most of the time I'm using the end of the cutter (the 1st 20 to 60 thouhs) and when that gets dull, I simply use the bench grinder to hand sharpen the end; grind it back put the reliefs on (without reducing the diameter). For end mills 1/2" in diameter greater, this works well.

After raising the grinding wheel I fed the table in " toward the column to center the fixture under the wheel. At this point, end mills of any size should be centered correctly by the 5C collets in the fixture. Sharpening end mills by grinding off the bottom never made sense to me, rarely are we plunging, most cutting is with the side. Of course the idea with bottom sharpening is remove enough off the bottom to get to a 'fresh' bit of side, but lobbing off 1/2" with a zip cutter then tuning up the end seemed wasteful.
